Generally, Prime Day is an excellent time to nab yourself a deal on everything from full gaming PCs to SSDs to the most tempting of forbidden fruit, but not everything is quite as generous an offer as the big red “Prime Day Sale” sticker would have you believe. In fact, some of the stuff that’s gotten a price cut is downright laughable: barely more than an attempt to offload some unwanted stock to unsuspecting punters.

Not you and me, of course, because you’re here reading about all the best deals that we’ve painstakingly uncovered in the Bezos deal mines. In the Total War: Warhammer games, some of your armies have procedurally generated lords with randomized names and perks, while others are led by Legendary Lords, bespoke characters often drawn from the setting’s history. Great news, VR fans. Valve has just released SteamVR 2.0 in beta. This is the software that powers the entire virtual reality experience on Steam, from hooking up to hardware to the interface you use to whizz around virtual worlds, and it just got a ton more features.

“Today we are shipping SteamVR 2.0 in beta,” a Steam representative says. “We see this as the first major step toward our goal of bringing all of what’s new on the Steam platform into VR.”

The official tournament circuit for competitive play in Pokémon is the Video Game Championships (VGC), established in 2009, which in different territories is managed by different groups. At the recent Korean Pokemon Trainers Cup Finals some players, upset at what they saw as mismanagement generally and in particular a poor tournament format, organised a protest during a dead rubber match: All would use Pokémon equipped with Metronome, a command that chooses almost any move in the game at random, and just spam Metronome through the match.
